What image comes to your mind when you think of bingo? A good guess would be old ladies, smoke from cigarettes and dark basements with no windows. However, some bingo halls in North America are reinventing themselves to reach younger generations.

The Mashpee Wampanoags’ tribe is planning to open a casino in Beacon Hill, Boston. If denied permission, they will open a ‘Bingosino’ instead.

‘Bingosinos’ are casinos that feature bingo slot machines instead of video slot machines.

The Lithuanian Citizens’ Society of Western Pennsylvania was fined on March 21, when a health department inspector visited a Wednesday night bingo and found 65 people smoking at the game.

It seems that Sacramento County will not be able to approve the proposed new rules for electronic bingo machines any time soon. New questions, some of them from tribal casino operators, have been made about the scope of the anticipated government ordinance.
