The town of Gateshead in England claims this honor
Gateshead, a town located in North-East England on the southern bank of the River Tyne has been designated as the luckiest bingo town in the past year.
The last proof of this gambling magic attributed to the city comes with the story of a woman who won the incredible prize of £50,000 at the National bingo game. She won this amazing prize playing at her local Gala Bingo Club in the Metro Center of which she has been a member for the past 15 years.
The legend behind the title awarded to the area comes from the eight prizes given in the past year to people in Gateshead, but this win is definitely the most exciting and the biggest of all.
The lucky winner, whose name remains unknown, is a 49-year-old woman from the West Denton area of Gateshead. She has 2 children and has declared that she will use the money to pay some bills and indulge herself in the future.
After winning she said: "I was extremely calm at first when I shouted full house, because I didn't believe that I would win the National calling in 43 numbers," and "I thought that it would go in about 37 numbers or below. It was such a shock when they announced that I had."
