Mexican TV station to open 65 bingo halls
More that 60 million dollars will be invested in this new project
Televisa, one of the most popular TV stations in Mexico is about to open 65 bingo halls in the country under the name of Play City. The news was announced by Alfonso de Angoitia, president of Televisas’s financial committee in a meeting he had this week with Mexican financial analysts.

de Agoitia also said that his company is very interested in developing the gambling business in the country and that they have committed to do whatever it takes to formalize the gambling market in Mexico. 60 million dollars have been already invested in the project. After getting the governments permission to operate bingo halls and other games in 2005, Televisa has launched the games millionaire Superlott, Toma 3, Toma 4 and Super Multiplier, which are played daily and weekly.

The bingo halls will be open in an organized fashion and it is planned that all 65 of them will be open in 6 years. The halls will be added to the already established gaming locals operating at the Oxxo stores chain.

With this new project, Mexican gambling analysts are projecting a big growth of the sector in the country since other financial groups such as CIE and Caliente are investing on it. Televisa for instance, has invested approximately 300 million pesos in the gambling industry so far and is planning to extend this amount in the near future.
