Bingo Caller to set Valentine’s record
Original way to celebrate this popular festivity
A 22-year-old employee at an English Bingo club is preparing himself to establish a new world record. The record he intends to set consists of becoming the person to receive the largest amount of San Valentine’s day cards, which is celebrated this February 14th.

Darren Chaffney is the name of the employee who works as a caller in the Bingo, giving good luck to his loyal regular players. Chaffney expects to have the support of the hundreds of women who regularly come to his club to play to fulfill his ambitious goal.

His bosses at Mecca Bingo have said that they have already contacted the famous Guinness Book of Records in order to start the paperwork. Guinness authorities declared that no one had ever tried to establish a record for amount of cards received. To help the caller in his ambitious goal, Mecca Bingo has agreed to donate money to the Butterwick Hospice in Stockton for each card Darren receives, which is expected to motivate people to help him.

About his idea, Darren declared: "I was roped into this because I'm the outgoing one. I am hoping for more than one! I am hoping for a couple of thousand to get the donations up. People can send them in totally anonymously; it's just the numbers that count. It's not a serious Valentine's Day card, it's just a joke, you can just put a question mark instead of a name”.
